The Woman in Scribbles Series captures the female form through layered pen strokes, each line simultaneously defining and dissolving the figure. Rather than fixing the body into a single image, the drawing allows it to remain fluid, fragmented and in motion, reflecting identity as something continuously formed, revised and lived rather than something static or complete.
The silver leaf introduces a second language into the work. Its reflective surface shifts with light and viewpoint, bringing an element of changeability to the otherwise fixed marks of the pen. At times it appears luminous and present; at others, it recedes. This instability mirrors the work’s central idea of identity as something that can be seen differently depending on context, perspective and proximity. Set against the black frame, the silver becomes both delicate and assertive, adding a quiet tension between permanence and transience, visibility and disappearance.
